For the My Neighborhood assignment, I chose three very distinguishable parts of Albany. The landmark photo is from a mural recently painted on the side of Cappies Bar and Grill in downtown Albany. This mural is thanks to Anthony Dostie Construction, who also renovated the inside of Cappies. Cappies is a historical landmark of Albany, this building used to be Wyatt's and was built in the 1880's. If you would like to see this mural it is located on 1st Avenue. The portrait picture is from a business called Big Town Hero, it has been around as long as I have been alive. Spencer Cannon, a recently hired college student, works the register as the lunch crowd rushes in. Spencer is studying to be an EMT in the near future, as his permanent career. The last set of photos are from the Saturday Farmer's Market. I have been attending these since I was a little kid, and they bring back good memories. The Farmer's Market was previously located on Water street in downtown Albany. They sell various things like plants, fruits, vegetables, and various other homemade items. There are also performers that play instruments, showcasing their own music. The farmers market is open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is located on 4th & Ellsworth in downtown Albany. 5/7/2011
